Fees and Limits

Exactly what the Memora bridge charges and where it is taken, with worked examples in both directions and the minimums and maximums on each chain.

The bridge charges two things on each leg, and nothing else. The review screen shows both before you sign, and both are taken on the origin chain inside the same transaction as your transfer. Nothing is charged on Canton.

Charges

What it isOur revenue feeFlat cost recovery for settlement on both chains
AmountA fixed percentage of the amountA flat amount, repriced from live network costs
On a depositThe rate applied to the gross depositShown before you sign
On a redemptionThe rate applied to the amount releasedShown before you sign

How it changesFixed rateTracks live network costs and is shown before you sign

The two are listed separately so a rate change cannot hide inside a "network" charge, which keeps the fee auditable.

Rates by chain

Origin chainBridge feeNetwork fee on a depositNetwork fee on a redemption
Solana (SOL, SOLx)0.125% (12.5 basis points)About 0.0085 SOL at launchAbout 0.0035 SOL at launch

Network fees are launch figures. The app shows the live values. Minimums for each chain are under Limits.

Wallet gas

Your wallet shows its own charge for signing a transaction. On Solana that is the transaction fee, a few thousandths of a cent. On Canton your wallet shows its own figure. None of it comes to us, and it is not part of the bridge's fees.

Worked examples

These use Solana's launch network fees. The app shows the live values. The arithmetic is the same on each origin chain.

Deposit 10 SOL

You send10 SOL
Bridge fee (0.125%)0.0125 SOL
Network fee (flat)0.0085 SOL
Total fees0.021 SOL
You receive on Canton9.979 SOLx

The vault locks exactly 9.979 SOL. Canton issues exactly 9.979 SOLx. The fees never touch the vault.

Redeem 5 SOLx

You hand back5 SOLx
Bridge fee (0.125%)0.00625 SOL
Network fee (flat)0.0035 SOL
Total fees0.00975 SOL
You receive on Solana4.99025 SOL

The bridge burns the 5 SOLx on Canton first. The vault then releases 5 SOL, of which 4.99025 SOL reaches your destination.

How the network fee is priced

The network fee recovers what a transfer costs to settle on Canton and on the origin chain. Canton charges for ledger traffic in US dollars. Each origin chain charges its own transaction costs: on Solana, a small transaction fee and, on redemptions, a one-time account rent. The bridge re-prices the flat fee against these live costs, so it moves gradually as network prices move.

On a deposit you sign a ceiling: the quoted network fee plus a small headroom, shown on the review screen as the most you can be charged. The vault charges the live value at the moment your transaction lands, never the ceiling. If the live fee has risen above your ceiling, the vault refuses the deposit before anything is sent, and the app asks you to reload for the current fee.

On a redemption the fee is the live value at the moment of release.

Limits

LimitValueWhy
Minimum depositSet on-chain for each asset and shown in the app; see Minimums by chain belowEach transfer has a fixed settlement cost regardless of size. The vault on the origin chain refuses a deposit below the minimum. Nothing is sent and nothing is charged.
Minimum redemptionSet on Canton for each token; see Minimums by chain belowSame reason. The ledger refuses a smaller redemption. Consolidate holdings first.
Maximum depositNone
Maximum redemptionWhat the vault can release right nowThe app reads this live and will not let you request more than the vault can pay. In normal operation it exceeds any single balance.

Not charged

  • Nothing is charged on Canton. Both charges are taken on the origin chain, nothing accrues on the Canton side, and no third party sits in the fee path.
  • A refund carries no fee. If the bridge fails to issue a deposit within its processing window and refunds it, the refund returns the full net amount with no further charge. The deposit-side fees were already paid out and are not clawed back.
  • There is no subscription, no account fee and no hidden spread. Each bridged token is exchanged one to one with its asset.

Where these numbers come from

The rates and the flat-fee logic live in the vault on each origin chain and are the same for everyone using that chain. The app reads the live network fee and the minimum deposit from the vault's on-chain configuration. Nothing fee-related comes from Canton or from our servers. The addresses of each vault and its fee accounts are on Verified Deployments.
